One year and eight months after that first post, I’m doing something about it!

Today was day 1 of Atkins.  Working from home — and not really working — probably makes this harder; my attention is much more focused on what I’m eating than it would be if I were busy working in an office.

But I feel pretty good. Today was easy.

Breakfast: 2 scrambled eggs with cheddar cheese, 4 slices of bacon.

Lunch: Tuna salad from Subway. Very unsatisfying, won’t do that again.

Snack: 4 pieces of celery with cream cheese.

Snack: Pastrami. I can really eat as much of this as I want?

Dinner: Stirfry of chicken, broccoli, spinach, and onions, with some soy sauce, garlic, hot sauce, and lemon juice. Couldn’t finish the chicken. Vastly prefer vegetables.

So far, I haven’t had any of the first-days symptoms that I read about: no headaches or sluggishness. In fact, I often take a nap in the early evening, and I’ve felt no need for one. I feel strangely energetic, which might be completely psychological.
